Frequently Asked Questions
Sobre Esta Calculadora
The ACT composite is the average of four section scores (English, Math, Reading, Science), each ranging from 1–36, rounded to the nearest whole number. Unlike the SAT, the ACT includes a Science section that tests data interpretation and scientific reasoning rather than content knowledge — you don't need to memorize chemistry formulas to score well on it.
ACT College Readiness Benchmarks are score thresholds in each section that indicate a 50% chance of earning a B or better in related first-year college courses. Meeting all four benchmarks is a meaningful indicator of college readiness, separate from how your score compares to admitted students at your specific target schools.
Many students perform differently on the ACT versus the SAT. If you score in the 85th+ percentile on either, most colleges consider them equivalent. The SAT comparison table helps you decide which test gave you the stronger result after one attempt at each.
