Sobre Esta Calculadora
The IELTS overall band score isn't a simple average — it uses a specific rounding rule that rounds to the nearest half-band, with .25 and above rounding up. Many students calculate the wrong overall band because they apply standard decimal rounding instead. This calculator applies the official rule precisely.
Each of the four sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) is scored on a 1–9 scale in half-band increments. Listening and Reading scores derive from raw marks out of 40, so the calculator includes a raw-score conversion mode: enter the number of correct answers and get the band equivalent.
The eligibility checker maps your overall band against the published requirements for UK, Australian, Canadian, and US university tiers — from standard undergraduate entry (Band 6.0) to Oxford and Cambridge postgraduate requirements (Band 7.5+). Section minimums are checked separately, since many programs reject candidates with a low Writing score even if overall band qualifies.
