Sobre Esta Calculadora

The Budget Calculator organises your income and spending into categories so you can immediately see where your money goes each month and whether your current habits align with your savings goals.

The 50/30/20 framework is the most widely recommended starting point: 50% of after-tax income to needs (rent, groceries, utilities), 30% to wants (dining, entertainment, subscriptions), and 20% to savings and debt repayment. This calculator shows exactly how your current spending compares to those benchmarks — most people discover their "wants" category is significantly higher than 30% until they see the numbers.

Variable expenses like dining out and entertainment are the easiest to cut without affecting quality of life meaningfully. A household spending $600/month on dining out that reduces to $300 frees up $3,600 per year — the equivalent of a 4.5% raise on a $80,000 income. The calculator makes these trade-offs visible in real time as you adjust categories.

Budget surpluses should be directed first to a 3–6 month emergency fund, then to high-interest debt, then to retirement accounts — in that priority order for most households.

📘 Personal Budget Calculator — 50/30/20 Rule

The 50/30/20 rule: 50% on needs (housing, utilities, food), 30% on wants (entertainment, dining, subscriptions), 20% on savings and debt payoff. If you're in debt, temporarily shift to 50/30/20 but apply the "wants" money to debt payoff. Track expenses for 3 months to find categories where you overspend.
